“Fixed”

“A little putty, a little paint makes the carpenter what she ain’t.”

I’m not such a detail person when it comes to building stuff, I’m more about the general overall effect. Sorta a ‘squint real hard and wiggle your head a little and it’ll look alright’ kinda gal. A while ago I wanted to make some sleeping nooks in the spare bedroom, and I wanted them to be paneled with wainscoting – however you choose to pronounce it. I was in too much of a rush to paint the backside of the raw wood pieces so they wouldn’t warp, and knew I’d pay for it later.

Well, the panels crack at the seams on a regular basis. Tonight I re-caulked them, since Lloyd’s parents are visiting next weekend. I’m not too worried about making it last forever, since someday I’ll tear the whole thing out and put a jacuzzi in there. For now, it’ll do.

Caulked up the wall

More nails. Definitely more nails. I’m a big fan of securing things to a rediculous degree. One of the ceilings in my house is more screws than drywall. There’s so much metal in the ceiling it would probably qualify as a nuclear shelter.

I wish you could have made those quotation marks around the title with little pictures of your hands. That would have been perfect.

    AN EXCELLENT JOB!! I’m impressed.

If a bed is against this wall, I would have just put some decoratives pillows in front of the cracks!

OOh it looks nice! Your saying reminded me of one my MIL always said when we did dishes together: “A good dryer makes the washer look good.”

If I bought a cordless caulking gun, would you caulk the outside of our house with it?
