Haha! That makes me think of one of my mom’s big birthdays… was it 50? I suggested we get together to buy her a new vacuum. I didn’t realize it was a bad gift. I was thinking that it would be nice because she was still using an ancient model that weighed 400 pounds. Wouldn’t she have liked something lighter and more powerful?
Actually, I think you’ve really got to know the person. My mom likes practical stuff and has been thrilled, over the years, to receive items like: brooms, vacuum cleaners, a treadmill, and a stair stepper machine. Of course, that should never be the ONLY gift.

We got her a nice watch instead.
Christina and I got my mom a new mop for her birthday once. Sorry mom.
In our defense, I think we were 10 or 11 years old. But sorry Mom.
Never give a lady appliances or cleaning supplies for a special occasion. That will elicit the death look… for a week.
…or longer!

I enjoyed the mop. It’s the thought that counts. I don’t often think of it but I do every Christmas of the ornaments I hang on the tree from you.
